Where the Locals Go

Breakfast

Whether it’s a part of daily life for residents or a vacation experience for visitors, we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That’s why there’s a special breakfast spot for every occasion and no occasion. Upscale or dives, we encourage you to take plenty of time to enjoy a memorable breakfast in Santa Fe.

  • Cafe Fina-Located off Old Las Vegas Highway near El Dorado, Cafe Fine serves up a fine breakfast where the locals gather to dine and engage in friendly discourse.
  • Cafe Pasqual’s-For more than 40 years, Cafe Pasqual’s has been a local favorite. Breakfasts are sublime, but so are lunch and dinner. Their commitment to scratch cooking and organic ingredients make it worth the wait. Be prepared to wait and stroll through the upstairs art gallery.

  • Clafoutis-If you judge a restaurant by how busy it is, Clafoutis, a French cafe, is always packed until they close at 3 pm. Whether you want a French omelet, a crepe, or a savory salad, you’ll love Clafoutis. Husband and wife duo, Pierre and Ann, hail directly from France and are smooth operators. He is the baker making the magic happen in the kitchen and she is greeting guests and in charge of the cash register. Their two daughters are also part of the friendly team and their staff makes sure everything is in order. The wide array of French baked goods will have you ordering a few sweets to go.

  • Dolina-Known for its hearty modern American brunch menu with Eastern European influences, Dolina never disappoints. But be ready to wait for a table. The benefits of waiting mean you can entertain yourself with one of their gorgeous pastries. It will make the wait so much more delicious.

  • Fusion Tacos-A locals favorite! Seven locations to choose from.
  • Horseman’s Haven-From steak and eggs to Carne Adovada and eggs to a breakfast burrito, the Horseman’s got breakfast down to a science.

  • Los Portrillos-When you are hungry for a classic Mexican breakfast, Los Portrillos is the place. Huevos rancheros and more but save room for their homemade corn tortillas.

  • Mille-Wait a sec, are we in France or Santa Fe? With Mille it gets pretty darn confusing. Marcel Remillieux owner of Mille, a French café and crêperie located in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, has pretty much blown away the entire town with his incredibly authentic French cuisine. People can’t stop raving about his food and his friendly local vibe. Get off of the internet and go now.

  • The Pantry-This is a staple restaurant where hungry customers go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With three locations, there is likely a Pantry near wherever you are. But Reuben is only at the original location on Cerrillos.

  • Plaza Cafe-Sitting on the edge of the Plaza, this breakfast spot is hopping with hungry customers.

  • Sunrise Family Restaurant-Located on St. Michael’s, this family-owned dive is a local favorite. Some say they have the best beans. But you can be the judge of that.

  • Tia Sophia’s-This restaurant came to life in 1975 and it’s not owned and operated by the founder’s daughter who is changing nothing. Located on San Francisco Street, choose from a wide variety of classic Northern New Mexico dishes and stay for the sopaipillas.
